Creating filter

You can create a filter that allows you to create very precise rules in a single filter. To create a filter, you must define one or more parameters (or filter nodes) joined with logical AND, logical OR, and logical NOT statements.

To create a filter, do as following steps:

  • Do one of the following to display the list of filters:
  • Click Filter Manager icon in main toolbar.
  • Choose Tools > Filters in main menu.
  • Click the Add icon. The Add Filter dialog appears. The dialog displays an inbox and an outbox icon representing entrance and exit respectively.

  • Define one or more filter nodes by clicking the And or Or icons in toolbar and selecting and defining one of the available filter rules. See also Filter rules for a description of the available filter types.

Each time you create a filter rule, a dialog appears that lets you define the filter rule. Each filter rule added to the filter is displayed showing the relationship. See also Logical AND, OR, and NOT operators.

  • Complete the rest of the Add Filter dialog and click OK. The new filter is now available whenever a list of available filters is displayed.
