Application protocols become more and more various along with continuously enrichment in network application. It is challenge to network analysis software, the identification method which is port-based only has been difficult to accurately identify a lot of application protocols. AthTek NetWalk has created a unique means of identification based on Flow smelling besides port. The rules of smelling are completely defined by users. The manner of editing the smelling rules is the same as editing the filter rules, which support logic relation of “And”, “Or”, and “Not”. It greatly improved the flexibility of smelling. In addition, sniffer is based on Flow, it can ensure the flexibility and greatest efficiency.
